Losing baby weight

25th May 2015

After having a baby, it can be incredibly depressing to see that it is very challenging to lose the weight you have put on. Most women find that they can’t quite meet the standards that movies actors and celebrities do in this regard and that they end up keeping the weight, or even adding more weight into the equation.

There are many ideas and tips out there right now to help you with losing baby weight, and we’ve put together some simple tips here in this article, that should help you get your weight back under control.

First of all, ask for help. There will be many people falling over themselves to baby sit or to do some of the chores that take up a lot of time in your life. Accept their offers for help and do one of two things. Either get some sleep, or commit to getting down to the gym or pursuing other exercises and activities that help to lose weight. By doing this, you put yourself in a position where you can start to get rid of that baby fat. If help is offered, don’t be too proud to accept it.

It is all too easy to get caught up in what is happening online, and many new mums find that they end up spending their free time on the Web, rather than doing something more productive. We recommend that every time you feel like jumping on Facebook, you at least do ten sit ups first (or whatever you’re comfortable with), and this will help you get back the weight you want.

Don’t waste your time online, but if you must, at least make yourself work for it first. Put in some exercise, no matter how light and for how short a period of time, and watch as the pounds just start to fall off.

One of the most important aspects of weight loss after you have had a baby is to not expect the earth. You will put on weight while pregnant, and it will be challenging to get rid of that weight after your little one arrives. So dont get frustrated or beat yourself up if things don’t happen as quickly as you would like them to.

You have a very complex body, and you need to allow it to get back into it’s own rhythms and routines. Take your time and focus on small wins, such as eating less sugar, or spending a few minutes at a gym. The more you concentrate on the small victories, the more you will find yourself facing larger wins.

The aspects above can be handled by anyone. Don’t ever think that putting on weight after childbirth is something that you cannot avoid. You can deal with it though, and the best thing is that there will be plenty of people around to help. Just don’t forget to ask them to babysit, so you can run down to the park and get in a quick run.
